Being number 10 on the list may seem low, but when you consider that we’re ranking 1&1 above all but 9 other hosting companies in the world, it’s not too shabby. 1&1 is an incredibly large scale service provider that made its name in Europe. There was a mega marketing campaign associated with their trip ‘across the pond’ to start focusing on the US market. They advertised their expansion by giving away free shared hosting for a short time. Reports from users that signed up for the ‘free’ service are that they got what they paid for. We hear that 1&1 has sorted everything out, and is doing great. Expect good value and support with all of their hosting packages.
